Artist's Statement: This is one in a series of photographs I took of this heron. Normally these herons are shy so I was thrilled to observe this guy in action at a fairly close distance (about 15 feet). Immediately after I took this shot, the heron lunged and caught a fish. I added digital artistic effects to create a more "painted" looking image. This image displays especially well on canvas, either framed or gallery-wrapped.
